On February 10th, 10. Magazine had Spotlight Party at O-Floor, Shibuya.

We had “10-second Interviews,” in which we ask 10 questions to 10 different people, and they would answer in 10 seconds.

1.  Give us your thoughts about winter.
Cold, snowboarding, wearing a pair of boots, kotatsu, white, flying kites.

2.  Give us your thoughts about March.
It’s before spring starts, so it’s refreshing and cold, with lots of fresh sunshine; everyone’s getting ready for a new year of school.  There are new drinks for spring, everything is new; you have a new chance to meet some great people and get rid of everything winter.  There are beautiful flowers, like Japanese daffodils.  I love March!

3.  Give us your thoughts about kotatsu.
Very useful, cheap electricity bill.

4.  What did you think of the snow this month?
I stayed at home and looked out the window and thought how wonderful it was watching the snow falling down outside! (laughs)

5.  What is your favorite winter activity?
Jogging – around the Imperial Palace.  I live near there.  I jog for about 30 minutes before work.  It starts off cold, but it get warmer during those 30 minutes.  Also, I go on a lot of business trips in winter, usually Southeast Asia or Australia.

6.  What is your favorite winter beverage?
In winter it’s very cold, so I want something sweet and hot.  Also, winter makes me lonely.  Hot chocolate makes me feel warm.  I like to have oshiruko (a hot, sweet, red bean drink), too.

7.  Where is your favorite place to go in winter?
I think I have a new favorite — and I think that’s Prague.  We went there in November and it was so beautiful.  The city, everything; food and beer is cheap!  If I was staying [in Japan], I’d go snowboarding.

8.  What’s something that you do only in winter?
I compost in the winter, in preparation for summer gardening.

9.  How do you feel about winter in Tokyo?
Too cold!

10.  What do you think about White Day?
White Day in Japan is when men give women presents, so I think that’s a great idea!

Tired and. . active!

4.  A few words about dating in Tokyo.
Since I am a native Tokyoite, it’s not a matter of whether I like it or not.. it’s just normal to me.

5.  Where was your first date ever?
Shibuya.

6.  What was your most memorable date?
In Jakarta, the police pulled us over while we were in a taxi and demanded a bribe. .

7.  What’s the most romantic song you know?
“Love” by Keyshia Cole.
Most interesting answer received all night:  “Four Seasons” by Vivaldi

8.  What’s your plan for 2.14.10?
Perhaps I will be working, but I can plan something if you insist!

9.  How long have you been single/dating/together?
2 years – single.

10.  ‘Tis better to have loved and lost / Than never to have loved at all.’:  Agree or disagree?
100% agree!

1.  What’s the 1st movie that you remember seeing in a movie theater?
Star Wars.

2.  How old were you when you had your 1st kiss?
15, with my girlfriend at the time.

3.  What’s the 1st most embarrassing moment that you remember?
Getting up in front of people to perform a sketch play.

4.  What’s the 1st foreign language word that you remember learning?
‘Doushite’ in Japanese.
I heard it and used it a lot. .

5.  What was your 1st hobby?
Building computers.

6.  What genre was the 1st CD you ever owned?
Jazz.

7.  How old were you when you fell in love for the 1st time?
7 years old.

8.  When did you come to Shibuya for the 1st time?
I came to Shibuya the first time in year 2001.
But I couldn’t remember why did I come here!

9.  What’s the 1st alcoholic drink that you ever had?
Orange juice and vodka. . accidentally!

10.  When and where was your 1st date ever?
In kindergarten!
